Karnataka won the toss and opted to bowl first in today's Vijay Hazare Trophy third round match.

Tamil Nadu: N Jagadeesan (wk) (c), Athish SR, Baba Indrajith, Pradosh Ranjan Paul, Andre Siddarth C, Mohamed Ali, Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore, Sonu Yadav, Sunny Sandhu, Gurjapneet Singh, Govinth Ganesh.

A solid start from Tamil Nadu, with Athish and Jagadeesan successfully facing the new ball challenge from Abhilash and Prasidh. The TN skipper has been in fine form of late, and has already hit four boundaries and one maximum, batting at 27 off 24.

The first powerplay is up, and Tamil Nadu have done seriously well, batting at 72/1. The only setback has been the wicket of Athish, who was dismissed for 14 by Abhilash. Jagadeesan has been brilliant so far, currently batting at 46 off just 39 balls. The new batter, Pradosh, hits a boundary off his second delivery.

Jagadeesan have continued his power hitting, reaching 62 off 59 balls, which includes 10 fours and one six. Pradosh has been playing second fiddle well, with 10 runs off 11 balls. TN have maintained their run rate of almost six-and-half.

Karnataka finally get the wicket that they were looking for, as Achar gets the scalp of Jagadeesan with an LBW. The Tamil Nadu skipper departs for a well-taken 65 off 67 balls. Indrajith is the new batter.

We are half-way through the Tamil Nadu innings, and they have reached 135. Pradosh has handled the pressure realyl well, batting at 29 off 37. Indrajith has aided well, with both batters batting at around or over 70 strike rate.

Another wobble in Tamil Nadu's top order as Indrajith falls prey to Gopal and is caught by Manohar. He departs for 28 off 45 balls. On comes the exciting youngster C Andre Siddarth, with Tamil Nadu's run rate falling to less than five-and-half.

A poor outing for Siddarth as he departs for just one after being run out by the substitute fielder, Manvath Kumar. Pradosh, who has reached his half-century and is batting at 56 off 62, will be hoping for more support from the new batter, Mohamed Ali, who has begun his innings with two sixes.

We are into the final powerplay, and Tamil Nadu have lost two more wickets in quick succession. First, it's Pradosh who departs after scoring 57 off 64 before being caught by Shrijith. Mohamed Ali's fiery innings comes to an end after a quick 31 off 32. Sai Kishore and Sunny are at the crease now.

Just four overs left in the innings, and Tamil Nadu lose their seventh wicket as Sunny's 17-run innings is brought to an end. Manohar takes his second catch as Patil gets his first wicket of the day. Meanwhile, Sai Kishore is playing a brilliant late cameo (31 off 27), and Sonu Yadav comes on as the new batter.

Tamil Nadu's innings comes to an end as they are all bowled out for 288 in the penultimate delivery of the innings. Sai Kishore was the only notable contributor at the tail-end, adding 38 off 32. Karnataka need to chase 289 runs to win.

Karnataka's in-form opener Devdutt Padikkal started his innings aggressively but his stay ended very soon. Gurjapneet Singh got the better of him in the fifth over. Padikkal departed after a quick 22 off just 12 balls.

Karnataka 43/1 (8.4)

Right before the end of the 12th over, Karnataka lose their second wicket as the in-form Karun Nair is stumped by Jagadeesan for just 17 runs off 28 balls. Smaran Ravichandran is the new batter for Karnataka as they still need 220 runs to win.

Karnataka are nearing the 100-run mark, but they have lost another big wicket as Smaran departs for just 15 off 17 balls after being caught by Pradosh. Shrijith is the new batter as KAR look to stabilise their floundering chase.

Sunny Sandhu comes into the attack and strikes immediately. He gets rid of Karnataka captain Mayank Agarwal for 58 as Tamil Nadu keep plugging away. Shreyas Gopal and wicketkeeper Krishnan Shrijith at the crease now, with a job to do.

Shreyas Gopal (22 not out off 26) and Krishnan Shrijith (40 not out off 50) have stitched together an invaluable, unbroken partnership of 42 to steady the Karnataka ship. It's already the innings' highest stand, and is taking the team to a position of strength against Tamil Nadu.

The fifth-wicket partnership continues to flourish for Karnataka. The stand between Shrijith (66 not out off 70) and Gopal (52 not out off 42) is worth 101 undefeated runs, and both get to their half-centuries in the process. Tamil Nadu are now in trouble, and need at least two quick wickets to effect a turnaround.

Shrijith (77 off 78) and Gopal (55 off 47) depart off consecutive deliveries, but they have done enough damage to Tamil Nadu by then. Abhinav Manohar smashes an unbeaten 9-ball 20 and Vidyadhar Patil (17 not out off 15) stays there at the end alongside him, as Karnataka complete an easy four-wicket win, chasing down 289 in 47.1 overs. This is Karnataka's third straight victory in the competition, while TN suffer their second defeat in three Group A games.
