JHKD's captain Kumar Kushagra has won the toss and elect to field first against Tamil Nadu.
The match has been reduced to 45 overs per side due to delay. TN openers - Narayan Jagadeesan and Athish SR are on the crease to start the inning, meanwhile Sushant start the proceeding with the ball for JHKD.
After being put in to bat on damp conditions, TN lost their in-form batter Narayan Jagadeesan early for a duck. However, both the batters Athish SR (2*) and Pradosh (13*) are battling it out for TN in testing conditions. JHDK will like to make full use of the moisture on the pitch and make inroads in TN's top-order.
Despite losing the in-form Jagadeesan for a duck, TN are still going strong on the back a brisk 54-run ongoing stand by Athish SR (31) and Prodosh (19*). Athish is the aggressor between the two and has hit 2 fours and 3 towering sixes till now. He has been very well complemented by Prodosh, who has also looked solid on the crease.
TN batters are going strong on the back of a 65 run partnership between Athish SR and Pradosh. JHKD broke the partnership when the dangerous looking Athish was dismissed by Utkarsh Singh for 32. The experienced Baba Indrajith has now joined Pradosh on the crease.
Tamil Nadu lost their 3rd wicket in the form of Pradosh who get castled by Rajandeep while a ramp shot. Pradosh fell 1 short of his half-century, Boopathi Kumar joins Baba Indrajith in his place.
Tamil Nadu lost their 4th wicket in the form of Boopathi Kumar, who was dismissed by Shubham Kumar Singh for just 7 runs.
Tamil Nadu are loitering for 181 for the loss of 5 wickets in 36 overs. Baba Indrajith is well set for 48 off 60 balls and is joined by Sandhu (9*) on the crease. TN will hope for Indrajith to take it to the end and get them to a competitive total.
Tamil Nadu's innings lost the crucial wicket of Baba Indrajith for 48 which stalled their run-rate in the last few years. However, Sai Kishore (15*) and Sonu Singh (13*) are battling it hard on the crease to take TN to a fighting total.
TN is bundled for 243 as the 10th wicket falls on the last ball of the innings. Shubham Singh was the pick of the bowlers for JHKD with 4 wickets while Pradosh Ranjan Paul (49) and Baba Indrajith (48) were the highest scorers for TN.
Jharkhand openers - Shikhar Mohan and Utkarsh Singh are on the crease to start their chase of 244 in 45 overs. TN have managed to put a decent total on board, however, JHKD have a strong batting line-up. It'll be interesting to see how the chase pans.
Shikhar Mohan (7*) and Utkarsh Singh (21*) have got off Jharkhand to a cautious start. Given the strong batting line-up JHKD posses, it can be said that they are at the front as they negated the new ball threat of TN bowlers.
Jharkhand openers provide a solid start in the chase of 244. Both Shikhar Mohan (28*) and Utkarsh Singh (36*) are looking comfortable on the crease and are taking closer to the target with every passing over.
Shikhar Mohan (42*) and Utkarsh Singh (70*) have provided Jharkhand with a sublime start against TN. They now need 126 runs more to win in 24 overs.
It’s been a flawless start as the opening pair put on a commanding show, taking the score to 175 without loss in 30.3 overs. Utkarsh Singh has led the charge with a brilliant 94 off 93, mixing timing with power and peppering the boundary rope at will. At the other end, Shikhar Mohan has played the perfect supporting role, compiling a composed 71 off 90.
Tamil Nadu finally manage to get their first wicket in the form of Shikhar Mohan, who departed for 90. However, it almost done and dusted for TN as JHKD just need 43 runs in 10 overs with 9 wickets in hands. It's not more than a consolation wicket for them.
JHKD have won the game and handed the five-time champion a crushing 9 wicket loss at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Utkarsh Singh's 123 not out and his opening partner Shikhar Mohan's scintillating knock ensures that JHKD chase down the target without any hiccups and bag the crucial 4 points.
