In the world of tennis, the Wimbledon 2025 women’s singles final was a historic one-sided affair. Iga Swiatek won 6-0, 6-0 against Amanda Anisimova, marking the first double bagel – winning without dropping any games – in SW19 finals since 1911.
England have won the toss and decided to bowl first. Read the full toss report.

We are underway at Birmingham, with Mandhana and Verma taking the pitch for India. Em Arlott has the ball.
What a brilliant comeback from Arlott! Mandhana had a fiery start to the over, hitting back-to-back boundaries. The pacer has the last laugh, as her outside off delivery is nicked by Mandhana only to the point, where Smith takes an easy catch.
Smriti Mandhana 8(6) c Smith b Arlott
England's decision to bowl first is looking excellent at the moment. Smith, accurate with her first two deliveries, beats Jemimah's defence and hits the middle stump. Poor effort by the batter as well.
Jemimah Rodrigues 1(5) b Smith
Despite the two quick wickets, India have maintained their strong start to the innings, going over 50 just after the PowerPlay. Shafali Verma has been lethal so far, hitting six boundaries as Harmanpreet on the other side is taking her time to settle in.
It was all going well for India, with Harmanpreet and Shafali building a partnership, but Dean gets a breakthrough for England. It was poor from the Indian skipper, completely missing the ball and getting her stumps knocked out.
Harmanpreet Kaur 15(18) b Dean
Other than Shafali, no one has really got going for India, and it's Harleen Deol's turn to depart the pitch after just four runs to her name. The batter tried to sweep Ecclestone, but completely missed the ball, which hit in dead centre.
Deol reviews it, but replays show that it's hitting the middle stump.
Harleen Deol 4(8) lbw Ecclestone
India seemed destined for a huge total, but the quick dismissals of Shafali Verma (75) and Deepti Sharma (7) means that England are on top. The visitors' hopes of getting a challenging total now rest on Richa Ghosh, who is in the middle alongside Radha Yadav.
India's middle order is collapsing quickly, and Richa Ghosh tries to hit a quicker delivery from Ecclestone to the ropes but only finds Bouchier at wide long on.
Richa Ghosh 24(16) c Bouchier b Ecclestone
India's innings ends at 167, which is an above-par score at Edgbaston. Despite most of the batting order failing to turn up, Shafali Verma's 75-run knock has helped India put a competitive total tonight. Up to the spinners now!
Three wides to start the innings by Goud, but other than that, the pacer has bowled perfect line and length. Good start from India, all things considered.
After a slow start, Danni Wyatt is currently dealing in boundaries, hitting six of them so far. Unlike India, England reach 50-run mark within the PowerPlay. They are currently bossing the chase.
Right after England breach the 100-run mark, they lose their first wicket of the day, with Sophia Dunkley being beaten by Radha Yadav's change of pace. The opener's defence is beaten, and India get their first scalp.
Sophia Dunkley 46(30) b Yadav
And just like that, England lose both their openers quickly. Wyatt-Hodge tried to hit Sharma straight out of the park, but manages to get a big leading edge that Rodrigues grasps at mid on.
Danni Wyatt-Hodge 56(37) c Rodrigues b Sharma
India need more than one wickets, but this is a start. Bouchier was in a hurry to end to game, trying to send it over the lines but could only find Mandhana at midwicket.
Maia Bouchier 16(17) c Mandhana b Sharma
Too little, too late for India. A slower delivery from Arundhati fools Beaumont, who wanted to get it over with a maximum. For now, England will need to wait.
Tammy Beaumont 30(20) b Reddy
Hold on here! Five from three, maybe there's a contest left after all? A terrific catch from Radha at deep midwicket, holding on to the ball and keeping it above ground, and England are five down.
Amy Jones 10(12) c Yadav b Reddy
That was tiiiight. Tighter than the hosts would have anticipated, courtesy of two clutch wickets from Reddy. However, they get over the line, much to the credit of their opening partnership.
