After a horrendous first over, India made a scintillating comeback by taking three back-to-back wickets. While Shreyanka Patil dismissed Georgia Voll and Ellyse Perry, Renuka Thakur chipped in with the important wicket of Beth Mooney.

Australia are in trouble after losing three wickets. They lost both their openers and Ellyse Perry early. Phoebe Litchfield and Ashleigh Gardner came together on the crease and the duo stitched a steady partnership to get them out of the deep waters. Australia still have an uphill task in hand and both batters, set now will have to take the game deep.

Phoebe Litchfield departs after playing an important cameo. She was targeting the Indian spinners with her switch hits and that ended up being the reason of her fall. Went for another switch hit against Deepti Sharma but this time got the angle wrong. The slong sweep ended up going all the way to the long-on fielder. Ashleigh Gardner continues the fight from one end but also was dropped in the last ball of the 10th over by Amanjot Kaur.

Australia's resistance is crumbling further and further. Ashleigh Gardner remains unbeaten as their only hope on one end as wickets keep tumbling from the other end. It was looking like Georgia Wareham's support can help Gardner take the innings forward but Wareham ended up pulling a harmless full toss from Arundhati Reddy straight into the hands of the deep mid-wicket fielder, who takes the catch after a short juggle.

Australia crumbling like a pack of cards now. They lose two more in the over and Ashleigh Gardner in the 6th over. Gardner's pull shot was taken brilliantly in the deep by Jemimah Rodrigues. Grace Harris joined Sutherland and when it felt like Australia can still come back in the game, Sree Charani removed Harris and Sophie Molineux in the same over and Australia remain under pressure.

India Women restrict the Australian innings to 159/9 and with it they secure a 17-run victory. With this win, they have now won a bilateral against Australia in Australia after 10 years, first time since 2016. Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues batted brilliantly earlier, powering India to a competitive 176/6. Chasing it, Shreyanka Patil and Sree Charani shined with the ball scalping three wickets each. Australia struggled throughout and despite Ashleigh Gardner's half-century, they fell short.
