England Women have won the toss and have opted to field.

Harmanpreet said, "Great opportunity for us to set a total on the board and let's see how it goes. Big achievement for us to play a first Test at Lord's, all of us are excited. Going with two pacers and three spinners. We do have one debut, Charani is going to make her debut and Yastika is back".

Sciver-Brunt said, "We're going to bowl. The most you can get out of the wicket is now. Couple of days home for some people, nice relaxed time (build up to this Test). Stood here on such a special occasion, would be remiss of us to not think about what's happened before. Two debutants today. Alice Capsey and Mady make their debut."

And we're underway at the iconic Lord's! Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma walk out to open the innings for India, with Mandhana taking strike. England have thrown the new ball to Lauren Bell, and the first delivery of this historic women's Test is just moments away. Let's go!

A quiet start from Bell. She strays down the leg side to Shafali Verma, who looks to flick it away but can't make contact. The ball brushes her thigh pad and they sneak through for a leg bye. India add one without the bat.

What just happened!

Lauren Filer strikes early, and England have the breakthrough. A sharp delivery nips away, squares Shafali Verma up in defence, and finds the outside edge. Amy Jones makes no mistake behind the stumps, and Shafali's stay ends without troubling the scorers. A dream start for England, while India are rocked early at Lord's.

That's classic Smriti Mandhana. Bell offers a juicy half-volley, and Mandhana needs no second invitation. She leans into the drive and creams it through the covers, the ball racing away down the famous Lord's slope to the boundary. Pure timing!

Just when India looked like they were settling in, Lauren Bell produces an absolute beauty. After an inconsistent start with the new ball, she comes back over the wicket and delivers a peach.

It shapes in, then straightens just enough off the seam to completely beat Yastika Bhatia's attempted flick. The off stump is rattled, and Yastika's promising knock ends on 12. England have their second wicket, and Bell has the last laugh.

Smriti Mandhana has absolutely nailed that. Sophie Ecclestone tosses it up, and Mandhana quickly gets down on one knee before unleashing a magnificent slog sweep over midwicket. It sails comfortably over the ropes, bringing up the first six of the match and capping off the opening hour in style. That's a statement shot!

That's a classy response from Jemimah Rodrigues! Issy Wong bangs it in on a back of a length, but Rodrigues stays nicely leg-side of the ball, waits until the very last moment, and cuts it crisply past the diving gully fielder. Perfect placement, and the ball races away to the boundary.

That's a confident first boundary from the India skipper! Lauren Filer digs it in short outside off, but Harmanpreet Kaur stays tall, waits for the ball to come to her, and plays a beautifully delayed cut. She beats the field with ease, and the ball races away to the fence. Class written all over it.

India 122/3 At lunch!

The visitors will be pleased with how the opening session unfolded, putting together a solid platform despite losing three wickets. Smriti Mandhana led the way with a fluent unbeaten half-century, finding the boundary with ease and looking in complete control. Jemimah Rodrigues also batted positively before an unfortunate lapse in concentration saw her drag one back onto the stumps.

England did strike three times, though. Lauren Filer dismissed Shafali Verma for a duck early on, while Lauren Bell produced a peach to bowl Yastika Bhatia. Rodrigues' wicket also gave the hosts a timely breakthrough just as India looked set to build a big partnership.

However, England's bowling lacked consistency for much of the session, with both seamers struggling to maintain disciplined lines and lengths. They'll need a much-improved performance after the break if they want to keep India's batting in check in this historic Test at Lord's.

Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana are back in the middle as England look for an early breakthrough after lunch. Lauren Bell has the ball in hand to kick things off.

She starts with a full delivery on off, and Harmanpreet gets an inside edge onto her pads while looking to drive. No damage done, and no run. England will be hoping this is the start of a tighter spell.

She didn't quite connect with this shot a couple of overs ago, but there's no mistake this time. Smriti Mandhana dances down the track to Sophie Ecclestone, gets right to the pitch of the ball, and lofts it beautifully over mid-off. Clean strike, one bounce into the ropes, and another classy boundary for the left-hander.

Mady Villiers tempts the India skipper with a generously flighted delivery, and Harmanpreet Kaur goes hard at the drive. It flies off the outside half of the bat and sails just over backward point. England won't mind how it came, but India will happily take the two runs.

Harman's lack of strike rotation has scuffled Mandhana.

She was batting at 50 from 56 balls and now both the batters have faced the same number of deliveries in this match.

Wong provides England with the much awaited breakthrough!

Jones who was standing up to the stumps snaffles the catch. Mandhana moved her body but ended nicking it. Sharp take from the keeper.

Deepti Sharma the new batter is trying her best to maintain the momentum and intensity of the team along with India's in form batter on the pitch, Harmanpreet Kaur.

Harman is seemed to face some discomfort. The Indian physio is out to keep a check on her once again.

Maiden test wicket for Villiers!

She bowls Harman at the stroke of tea. This is a delightful delivery from the debutant.

It was a full length ball, Harman went for a drive until Villiers burst through the defenses.

England have got their way before tea after taking wickets of set batters Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur.

While Wong had Mandhana caught out behind 83, Villiers took her maiden wicket of Harmanpreet Kaur at 58.

As it stands, India are currently 202/5.

Third Session underway, Richa Ghosh is the new batter for India.

Cheap dismissal and England continue to wipe-off India's batting line-up one by one.

Sharma and Rana all set on the pitch striking good number of defensive shots to avoid losing more number of wickets by the end of the Day 01.

Two big overs for Team India as Deepti shifts gear by taking on Mady Villiers. Sneh Rana gradually settles down while Deepti keeps the scoreboard ticking.

England debutant Mady Villiers has struck again at Lord's, claiming the wicket of Sneh Rana!

Attempting a sweep shot, Rana was caught out by the pace and length of the delivery. The ball snuck through to hit her low on the pad, prompting an immediate review from the English side. Ball-tracking confirmed the impact was crashing into the leg stump, resulting in an LBW decision.

England have secured another vital breakthrough at Lord's, with Sophie Ecclestone trapping Sayali Satghare LBW.

The dismissal came from a delivery angled in from around the wicket, which kept coming back into the right-hander. Caught deep in her crease while attempting to work the ball across the line, Satghare was beaten on the inside edge and struck on the back pad. While she opted for a review, the decision stood; ball-tracking indicated that the delivery would have clipped the leg stump, confirming an "Umpire's Call" decision.

Beaumont is on the crease in her final test match for England with Bouchier.

Smriti Mandhana was the highlight of the day after scoring a massive 83, Harman (58) and Deepti (57) contributed as well with the bat.
