WPL 2025: Mishra, Gardner Power Gujarat Giants Past UP Warriorz In Vadodara

Ashleigh Gardner’s all-round performance and Priya Mishra’s three-wicket spell was too good for the UP Warriorz to handle as the Gujarat Giants won by six wickets and overs to spare on Sunday, February 16, at the Kotambi Stadium. (More Cricket News | Match Blog)

Gardner, after opting to field, started off on a decent note, after sending Kiran Navgire and Vrinda Dinesh back to the pavilion. 

However, Uma Chetry (24) and Deepti Sharma (39), perfected the rebuild and set a platform for a solid finish.

Priya Mishra had other ideas as she ran through the middle-order, sending Tahlia McGrath and Grace Harris back to the pavilion, eventually reducing the Warriorz to just 143 for the loss of nine in their 20 overs. 

Chasing a sub-par target, the Giants lost Beth Mooney for a duck, but it was Ashleigh Gardener and Laura Wolvaardt who set the stage for a solid finish, with their 52 and 22, respectively.

Harleen Deol and Deandra Dottin, put on a composed, fiery, attacking display of batting to take them home in 18 overs. 

Sophie Ecclestone picked up two wickets but was nowhere close to trouble the Gujarat chase.
