Already qualified for semi-finals, England handed Pakistan a lifeline by defeating New Zealand by four wickets in Colombo on Friday (February 27, 2026), thrillingly chasing down a 160-run target in 19.3 overs. Not only did Harry Brook's men maintain a clean slate in the Super Eights stage, they also kept Pakistan's semi-final hopes alive in the T20 World Cup. New Zealand are placed second in Group 2 with three points, while the Men In Green are placed third with one point and they need to win big against already-ousted Sri Lanka on Saturday to dislodge the Kiwis from the second spot and qualify for the semis.
