The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2027 could see a change to its proposed venue list after concerns were reportedly raised over playing conditions in Ranchi during the winter months. India are scheduled to host Australia in a five-Test series beginning January 21, with Nagpur, Chennai, Guwahati, Ranchi and Ahmedabad currently listed as the venues. The fourth Test is scheduled in Ranchi from February 19 to 23.
According to a report, the India team management has expressed concerns about early sunset in Ranchi during January-February, which could potentially reduce playing time and make completing the mandatory 90 overs per day difficult. Guwahati, meanwhile, is expected to retain its Test, although a minor adjustment to its start time is possible. The BCCI has not announced any official venue change yet.
