Hello and welcome the highlights from our coverage of the 2nd ODI between Bangladesh and the West Indies, that will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. It was a thrilling game decided in the Super Over where West Indies managed to find victory to level the series 1-1.
Bangladesh put in a collective batting effort with no one scoring big but a lot of players contrbuting to take the team to 213/7 in 50 overs. In a historic first, West Indies bowled all 50 overs of spin and at one point it looked like they would stop Bangladesh within 200. However, Rishad Hossain smashed 39 not out off just 14 balls towards the end to help Bangladesh set a 214-run target.
Gudakesh Motie picked up three wickets while Akeal Hosein and Alick Athanaze got a couple of scalps each.
A middle order collapse put West Indies in danger of losing the game before captain Shai Hope stepped up and hit an unbeaten half-century to drag the game to Super Over.
Hope then hit seven runs in the Super Over as well to set up an 11-run target for Bangladesh. Akeal Hosein delivered a no ball and a total of five runs only off the first to leave Bangladesh needing just six more from five balls. However, Hosein finished well and Bangladesh were stopped a run short.
The first match saw bowlers dominate proceedings as West Indies bowl out the hosts for 207 in 49.4 overs. Towhid Hridoy (51) and Mahidul Islam Ankon (46) were the top-scorers for Bangladesh in their innings.
Jayden Seales (3/48) was the pick of the bowlers for West Indies. In reply, the visitors were outplayed by Rishad Hossain (6/35) as they were bowled out for 133, handing a 74-run victory to Bangladesh.
