After winning the toss and opting to bowl, Australia’s attack applied early pressure and struck at key moments, restricting England to a below-par 244 for nine.

Tamsin Beaumont’s 78 provided some resistance, but disciplined spells from spinners Alana King (1/20), Sophie Molineux (2/52), Ashleigh Gardner (2/39) and pacer Annabel Sutherland (3/60) ensured England never built sustained momentum.

England had a solid start as Beaumont set the tone with crisp drives and an early six, while Alice Capsey (38) and Charlie Dean (26) combined for a 61-run partnership to stabilize the innings. Chasing 245, Australia stumbled early, losing three wickets for just 24 runs inside six overs to the accurate new-ball spells from Linsey Smith and Lauren Bell. Beth Mooney (20) and Annabel Sutherland (98*) rebuilt the innings with a 44-run stand, absorbing pressure and laying the foundation for a strong recovery.

Ashleigh Gardner then joined Sutherland, and the pair shared an unbeaten 180-run partnership that virtually ended the contest. Gardner’s fluent strokeplay complemented Sutherland’s steady anchoring, as Australia cruised past the target with 57 balls to spare.
