The wonders of this drink never get advertised as the best thing for your child or for your waist. Maybe because when something is truly natural (and cheap) we stop caring about it and focus on other artificial things that we could market as ‘natural’ and make more money in the bargain?
The drink falls ‘short’ on another front too—it’s not well packaged. It comes in a hard shell of a coconut and not in some fancy can which can be printed as low cal/ natural/ packed with potassium power. And then there is the ‘malai’, ‘fattening’ and ‘saturated’ as per your health practitioner. Tsk tsk. This saturated fat found in nariyal is so unique in its structure that it helps (hold your heart) protect your heart from cardio-vascular diseases, improves your stamina, nourishes your skin and hair and aids in burning fat.
Not to mention, both the pani and the malai are just great to taste.
