Rajasthan Police Forms SIT Led By Dinesh MN To Investigate Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena Chief's Murder

Rajasthan erupts in outrage and protest as the Director General of Police forms a Special Investigation Team to delve into the daylight assassination of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi.

Director General of Police Umesh Mishra has established a Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by Additional Director General (Crime) Dinesh MN, to investigate the murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the chief of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena. In response to the heinous crime, a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh has been announced for information leading to the arrest of the two accused, as reported by Indian Express.

Rajasthan Police conducted searches to apprehend the individuals responsible for Gogamedi's killing. The motive behind the murder is reportedly linked to Gogamedi's support for individuals opposing gangster Rohit Godara, associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who claimed responsibility for the murder in a Facebook post. Gogamedi was fatally shot in his Jaipur residence on Tuesday.

In protest against the daylight murder, shops and businesses in various cities across Rajasthan, including Ajmer, Sawai Madhopur, Sikar, Tonk, Dausa, Jhunjhunu, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Pali, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Sirohi, and Mount Abu, remained closed. High-ranking officials, including Chief Secretary Usha Sharma and DGP Umesh Mishra, convened a meeting with District Collectors and SPs to assess the law and order situation following the incident.

The tragic event unfolded as three gunmen attacked Gogamedi at his Jaipur residence. One assailant was killed in retaliatory gunfire by the police. CCTV footage captured the assailants brandishing weapons and indiscriminately firing at Gogamedi, who was seated on a couch. In a disturbing turn of events, one of the attackers shot the motionless Gogamedi at close range before fleeing the scene.
