Rahul Gandhi said that during a parliamentary query he got no clear answers — no framework, no timetable and no plan for public discussion on the caste census.
He described this lack of action as an “open betrayal” of the country’s Bahujan population and accused the government of ignoring the concerns of backward and marginalized communities.
According to him, the government is unwilling even to consider learnings from states that have already conducted caste or community surveys, thereby denying transparency and justice to historically under-represented groups.
