Night curfew imposed in East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya, within 1 km of the India-Bangladesh border from 8 pm to 6 am for two months.
The move follows an August 8 intrusion when eight armed men crossed over, stabbed a villager, vandalised property, and attempted a kidnapping.
Unfenced stretches of the 444-km border remain vulnerable to infiltration and armed group activities, officials said.
