A group of activists, lawyers, and academics at a seminar organised by Janhastakshep demanded immediate suspension of the Special Intensive Review (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Participants, including S. Y. Quraishi and Prashant Bhushan, argued the process undermines citizens’ voting rights.
A resolution warned that continuing SIR could render elections—especially in West Bengal—meaningless, urging use of the 2025 rolls or swift appeals for deleted voters.
