Nine People, Including Five Of A family, Murdered In Telangana

The accused apparently bought sleeping pills, mixed them in milk and served to the victim's family members before committing the crime.

In a bizarre incident, one Sanjay Kumar Yadav conspired to kill as many as nine people, including five members of Maqsood Alam's family, allegedly over some financial dispute in Warangal district of Telangana. Though the murders took place on May 20, the police could recover bodies only on Monday, four days after the incident occurred.

Yadav, with the help of an auto-driver, reportedly administered sleeping tablets in milk while all of them had got together for a birthday party, and later dumped their bodies in an abandoned well on the outskirts of town. Before disposing off the bodies Yadav took away all their cell phones.

Those who were murdered are Maqsood Alam, his wife Nisha Alam, their sons Shabaz Alam and Sohail Alam, daughter Bushara Alam, her three-year-old son, and their friends Sriram, Shyam and Shakeel. Maqsood hails from West Bengal who settled down in a village in Warangal some 20 years ago.

According to police, the murders were plotted by Sanjay Kumar Yadav, who has admitted to the crime, along with Khathun, the son-in law of Maqsood Alam. Police sources said Khatun separated from Maqsood’s daughter Bushara three years ago. The couple had a child.

Sanjay reportedly had some financial disputes with Maqsood. He saw an opportunity to settle scores with Maqsood who was celebrating his grandchild’s birthday on May 20. He apparently bought sleeping pills, mixed them in milk and served to Maqsood's family members and their friends who attended the party.

Apart from the monetary dispute, the police are also investigating Yadav had an alleged illicit relationship with Maqsood’s daughter, which might have led to commit this heinous crime.
