Kejriwal on Thursday announced that the AAP-led government in Delhi would adopt 10 principles of 'Ram Rajya' in the national capital. The Delhi CM also assured that his government would do its best to sponsor the travel of devotees from Delhi to Ayodhya.

While addressing a crowd on Thursday, Kejriwal said, "On one hand, while we have to devote ourselves to Lord Ram, on the other hand, with the utmost honesty, we have to dedicate ourselves to the welfare of our nation. If we tread the path of Lord Ram, no one can stop India from becoming the world's number one country."

About the 10 principles

  • Kejriwal asserted that the AAP government endeavors to eradicate hunger in Delhi.

  • The Delhi CM said that the principles would ensure that everyone in the national capital gets "an equal and good education".

  • Every citizen in Delhi should get quality medical treatment, and no one should be refrained from the same or die because of lack of money, Arvind Kejriwal said. "We have improved the hospitals of Delhi," he added.

  • Lauding his government's electricity policies he said, "Everyone should get electricity," the Delhi Chief Minister said, adding that people are now getting zero electricity bills and the poor are enjoying free power.

  • Kejriwal said that everyone in Delhi should have water irrespective of financial status. "Today, we have supplied water to many areas of Delhi," he added.

  • Another 'Ram Rajya' principle that Arvind Kejriwal adopted is respect for elders. "A family and society can never progress where elders are not respected," he said.

  • Taking a dig at the Centre as the law and police in the national capital are not under the AAP government, Kejriwal mentioned the status of women's safety in Delhi. "We are trying to do everything within the system we have. Today, a big network of CCTV cameras has been formed in Delhi. (The city) has the world's largest network of CCTV cameras. More CCTV cameras are installed in Delhi than in New York, London, and Paris. An effort has been made to install street lights in dark areas," Arvind Kejriwal said.

  • The Delhi Chief Minister highlighted the importance of employment, saying that "unemployment is the biggest problem facing the country today". Arvind Kejriwal said that via employment fairs and government job portal, as many as 12 lakh jobs have so far been provided.

  • In Delhi's 'Ram Rajya', Arvind Kejriwal said, "Inflation will have to be reduced."  However, the cm also noted that according to a survey by the central government, the national capital has the "lowest inflation in the entire country". He added that if inflation is so intense, there cannot be any 'Ram Rajya'.
