The state’s cutoff to register for the 2026 general election is approaching. “Getting registered to vote is just the FIRST step in getting #VoteReady,” National Voter Registration Day organisers wrote on the group’s website. Registering In Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania residents can register online through the state’s voter registration portal at Vote.PA.gov. They can also register by mail or in person. The state also allows registration at county election offices, PennDOT driver’s licence centres and other state agencies.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania informs voters that the application process can take as little as 10 minutes. Applicants with a Pennsylvania driver’s licence or PennDOT ID card can complete the process fully online. Those without either document can upload a signature or print and sign a voter registration form.

Deadlines And Eligibility

The key date is October19, 2026. That is the deadline to register to vote in Pennsylvania’s 2026 general election, and the state requires voters to register at least 15 days before an election.

Other dates follow quickly. October 27 is the deadline to request a mail-in or absentee ballot. October 19 is also the suggested last day to request a mail ballot. November 3 is Election Day and also the deadline to return a mail ballot. It must be received by the county by 8 PM.

Eligibility rules are fixed. A voter must be a US citizen for at least 30 days before the election. The voter must also be a resident of Pennsylvania and of their election district for at least 30 days before the election. They must be at least 18 years old on or before Election Day.

Documents matter too.
