During the event, Barrymore was having a conversation with actress and singer Reneé Rapp when a man moved towards Barrymore, calling out her name. However, the entire audience and even the actress felt the shift in the atmosphere when the man was allegedly heard saying, “You know who I am. I need to see you at some point while you’re in New York.” After this, the guards were seen approaching the man to escort him out of the show.

As soon as the incident happened, Rapp stood up, wrapped her arms around Drew, and walked the actress offstage. Both actresses stood behind the stage for a while, after which both of them walked back to the stage. Meanwhile, Rapp appreciated Drew for handling the situation so calmly and resuming the show immediately after the incident.

According to reports, the accused has been identified as Chad Michael Busto. However, the entire detail about the man is yet to be given. Rapp addressed the audience and said, "Hey, do you need anything?" they asked. "A moment, please?" 'Oh no, I've got it, I'm good." On the other hand, Barrymore appreciated Rapp's instinct for protection. Joking around, Rapp said that she is well aware of Drew's attractiveness and hence her protective instincts kicked in.
