At least seven people were killed in Kyiv and several others were wounded in an overnight Russian attack, Ukrainian officials said on Monday. According to reports, the drone and missile attacks sparked fires in residential areas and damaged an entrance to a metro station which served as a bomb shelter, reported Reuters.

According to the Ukrainian Air force, 352 Russian drones and 16 missiles targeted multiple areas in Ukraine, reported BBC. Videos have surfaced showing residents running away from a high rise building which was on fire.

Russia has carried out multiple attacks on Ukrainian soil in recent weeks. Ukraine's Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko released a statement on Telegram claiming that the attack caused damage in six of the city's 10 districts, including in several apartment buildings. "There are still people under the rubble," Klymenko said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on X that he would travel to London to discuss the conflict later on Monday.

Russia launched its deadliest attack yet on Kyiv last week that killed 28 people and injured more than 150, reported Reuters. United States President Donald Trump had earlier held a call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin describing it as “not a conversation that will lead to immediate peace.”

Both sides have exchanged fresh attacks with Ukraine conducting a drone attack targeting Russian airbases earlier this month.
