Russia attacked Ukraine with 728 drones and 13 cruise or ballistic missiles in multiple waves on Tuesday night, marking the biggest aerial attack of the war on Ukraine yet, Ukrainian officials said. The attack came hours after US President Donald Trump criticised his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin for “not treating human beings right.”

The attack was carried out overnight on Tuesday and struck 10 regions in Ukrainian territory. One person was killed in the Khmelnytskyi region, and two wounded in the Kyiv region.
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack claiming that "It comes precisely at a time when so many efforts have been made to achieve peace, to establish a ceasefire, and yet only Russia continues to rebuff them all."
In response, Trump said that Putin is “killing too many people, so we’re sending some defensive weapons to Ukraine.”
“We get a lot of bullshit thrown at us by Putin, if you want to know the truth. He’s very nice to us all the time, but it turns out to be meaningless,” he added.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow was "pretty calm about this. Trump's way of talking is generally quite harsh, the phrases he uses,” BBC reported.
Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian city of Lutsk, which is home to airfields used by the Ukrainian army, was the hardest hit. The Russian Defense Ministry said its forces took aim at Ukrainian air bases and that “all the designated targets have been hit.”
According to officials, apart from Lutsk, ten other regions were targeted. One person was killed in the Khmelnytskyi region, and two wounded in the Kyiv region.
The peace talks between both nations have failed despite numerous attempts. Last week, following a phone call with the Russian president, Trump said he was "very unhappy".
Trump has also claimed to impose sanctions of 500 percent on countries that engage in trade with Russia.
