Punjab police in Pakistan say they have arrested a 31-year-old Indian national from Assam who allegedly crossed the border “inadvertently” on August 16 near the Ajmal Shaheed Post.
The man, identified as BJ Singh, was reportedly detained by Pakistan Rangers for more than 100 days without completing legal procedures.
Rangers allegedly interrogated him for over three months before handing him over to police, who are now investigating the circumstances of his border crossing.

He had reportedly left his residence after a quarrel with his father Barshan Singh over some domestic issue.
Police have registered a case against him for illegally crossing into Pakistan.
