PM Modi Is Staying At This Iconic Hotel In Manhattan During His US Visit

The hotel was popularised In the 2000s by the TV show Gossip Girl where it was depicted as the residence of Blake Lively's character Serena van der Woodsen.

New York’s Madison Avenue was abuzz on Tuesday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a state visit to the US, arrived at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel to spend the next few days. Modi was given a warm welcome by the hotel staff and his supporters at the hotel. 

Earlier today, Tesla CEO Elon Musk was also seen dropping in at the hotel to meet the Indian Prime Minister, who also met with dozens of academics, health experts, and business leaders at the landmark midtown Manhattan location.

Located about 10-15 minutes away from the iconic Central Park, at the corner of 50th Street, Lotte New York Palace is a five-star hotel with 733 guest rooms and suites. According to the hotel’s website, The rates for the rooms start from approximately Rs 48,000 per king-size bed and can go up to more than Rs 12 lakh per night for the luxurious Towers Penthouse Suite. The hotel stands at a height of 563 feet and is a 51-storied skyscraper.

Notably, PM Modi lead a historic Yoga Day event today with a massive crowd that even set the Guinness world record for the most number of nationalities participating in a yoga session. where he said yoga was a way of building bridges and that it was free of copyrights and patents, and adaptable and universal.

On June 22, PM Modi will receive a ceremonial welcome at the White House where US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will host a State Dinner in his honour. Modi will also address a joint sitting of the US Congress on June 22. 

On June 23, he will be jointly hosted at a luncheon by US Vice President Kamala Harris and the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
