In a spectacular conclusion to its second edition, Malhar & The Sea delivered on its promise to be India’s most exclusive super-luxury cultural experience. The three-day residential festival, held from August 22-24, 2025, at the magnificent ITC Grand Goa Resort & Spa, was produced by Showhouse, a company known for its visionary approach to creating unique, high-end events. The festival was a curated escape for a select group of 200 ultra-HNI couples, offering an intimate blend of world-class performances and luxurious hospitality, all with the support of sponsors Volvo and Club ITC, and in association with The Glenlivet. In line with its mission to create meaningful experiences, the festivals of extended its support to a worthy cause, making a significant contribution to the National Association of the Blind (NAB).

The festival's opening day was a powerful statement of its artistic vision. The program began with the timeless voice of folk luminary Malini Awasthi, whose captivating performance as the Queen of Folk laid a foundation of heritage. This was followed by a moment that defined the festival's core value of celebrating legacy: the rare and moving performance by "3 Generations. One Nation." Ayaan, and his grandsons, Abeer and Zohaan, in a truly historic event. The artistic journey continued with the dynamic "Taal Vaadya" by celebrated percussionist Taufiq Qureshi and friends. The day culminated with the "Classical Science Fiction" after-party, where Karsh Kale’s innovative fusion of electronica with Indian classical music proved the festival’s forward- looking spirit.

The second day showcased a rich diversity of classical and contemporary talent. It began with the serene "Morning Raga" by The Flute Sisters, Suchismita and Debo priya, disciples of Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia. The festival then paid a moving tribute to the late Ustad Rashid Khan, with a performance by his son, Armaan Khan, who is carrying his father's legacy forward with distinction. The program continued with a masterful "Vocal & Sitar Jugalbandi" by Arshad Ali Khan and Shakir Khan, followed by a mesmerizing "Sham-e-Mehfil" by Bollywood's acclaimed singer Madhubanti Bagchi. The day concluded on a spiritual note with the soul-stirring Rajasthani Sufi melodies of Samandar Khan Manganiar & histroupe, whose powerful renditions of poetic verses from saints like Bulle Shah and Kabir resonated deeply with every guest.

The final day concluded with a special World Music performance by Sonia Shirsat, atrue custodian of Goa’s Fado tradition, a fitting tribute to the event’s coastal setting.

Omer Haider, Managing Director of Showhouse, reflected on the festival’s unique position: "This festival's the manifestation of what I grew up with and continue to cherish today—khana peena, gaana bajaana." He emphasized that the festival was designed to be an intimate, curated space where guests could not only enjoy great music but also become part of a larger, shared cultural experience.
