Latest Crypto News: Puma Launches 3D Web3 Project, Uniswap Unveils V4 Code

Here are some latest developments in the crypto world over the past few days.

German footwear giant Puma launched the Black Station, a 3D metaverse project, on June 13 to give users access to an “experiential home for product drops”

According to creators, Black Station gives Puma pass holders, or non-fungible token (NFT) users, “unrestricted access” to a 3D metaverse experience and exclusive perks.

While everyone can explore the platform, only the RB token holders can buy a digital ‘Rulebreaker’ sneaker and digital wearables. RB tokens, each worth 0.0125 ether, were earlier airdropped to Puma pass holders.

Developers wrote: “If you do not own an RB token, there is still so much to explore. Unkai, our city in the clouds, and Unter, our exhilarating club below, both are filled with mysteries to explore and collect.”

Uniswap Releases Version 4 Code

Uniswap’s Version 4 Code will allow for more customised options, although it will be implemented only after community feedback. In a blog post on June 13, Hayden Adams, the creator of Uniswap, released a draft code for Uniswap V4, which includes “hooks” or “plugins” that let programmers design unique liquidity pools.

Uniswap is the world’s biggest decentralised cryptocurrency exchange by volume. It launched the most recent version, V3, on May 4, 2021.

When V4 is implemented, the “hooks” functionality will enable developers to innovate the exchange, including in the areas of on-chain limit orders, automatic deposits to lending protocols, automatically compounded liquidity provider (LP) fees, etc.

The first step in introducing a new Uniswap version is to release the source code. V4 will be deployed after its community reaches a consensus.

Yat Siu Answers Community Concerns

Board member Yat Siu has shared concerns about ApeCoin DAO’s salary payouts.

A community member described the salaries as “insanely out of touch,” while another user accused it of being “disconnected from reality.”

Following the publication of the wages in an organisational chart, community members criticised the leaders in charge of the ApeCoin ecosystem for their “insane” pay packages.

The ApeCoin DAO secretary, “Vulkan”, posted an organisational chart with the salaries of the DAO's leadership on Twitter on June 10. The earnings ranged from $7,000 to $75,000 a month, shocking some community members and sparking a flurry of questions from others.
