'Our Suggestion (Against A Price Hike) Was Rejected'
A few days after announcing the latest oil price hike, Union petroleum minister Mani Shankar Aiyer told Outlook he had favoured reduction of duties so that there would be no need for a hike. Excerpts from an interview:
Are oil cos making abnormal profits?
Should the profits of oil companies be at the cost of the consumer?

The oil PSUs are cross-subsidising LPG and kerosene, but is it proper that Reliance without any such social obligation should be making a huge profit out of this price hike?
