This week we re-evaluated Freedom 251
The mystery around the world’s cheapest phone, Freedom 251, has deepened, with Ringing Bells owner Mohit Goel deciding to refund the money collected from the initial bookings of the phone and going for a cash-on-delivery model. The company reportedly collected Rs 77 lakh from the initial bookings for the Rs 251 phone. The major problem is: Ringing Bells doesn’t yet have a factory that will manufacture the phone. Even though the promoter remains confident of making and delivering the phones by June, people across the spectrum are doubtful about the company’s intentions. What next? Wait till June.
