Meet The Desigineer

The inventor of SixthSense, a wearable device that enables new interactions between the real world and the world of data, Pranav Mistry is passionate about integrating the digital informational experience with our real-world interactions. Winner of the World Economic Forum’s ‘Young Global Leader 2013’ award, Mistry started as a research assistant and PhD candidate at the MIT Media Lab. Just in his early 30s, he has done stints with Microsoft, Google, NASA, UNESCO, among others.

After doing a bachelors in computer science & engineering from the Nirma Institute of Technology, Ahmedabad, Mistry went on to do a masters in design from IIT, Bombay, followed by another masters in media arts and sciences from MIT.

The young scientist from Palanpur, a small town in Gujarat, had dropped out of the School of Architecture there and today takes pride in the fact that “exposure to fields like design to technology and from art to psychology gave me a quite nice/interesting viewpoint to the world. I love to see technology from a design perspective and vice versa. I am a ‘Desigineer’.
