Look for original solutions and innovate for India is the mantra Venkatesh Valluri has long abided by. Before joining Ingersoll Rand, a $14-billion globally diversified industrial technology company, he was president of the Indian operations at Agilent Technologies, helping the company esta­blish a strong foothold in the region. Before that, he spent 10 years with General Electric in various leadership roles in India and Europe. He also spent nine years with Raychem Corp in roles spanning sales, marketing and manufacturing for the def­ence and industrial electronics markets.

Valluri is very active on various industry bodies. He serves on the board of United Way India and represents the company at various government and industry-led committees in the area of technology, food security, cold chain, energy efficiency, security technologies and CSR initiatives. He also serves as the executive committee member of TERI, is a member of the national executive board of AMCHAM and chairs the national committee on technology of the CII. A keen sportsman, Valluri has over the last few years started participating in marathons and, according to reports, runs two to three times a week.
