They have not only made the country proud but also made a name for themselves globally. From MM Keeravani, Guneet Monga to Vir Das, several talents were honoured internationally this year. MM Keeravani

Indian music composer and record producer M M Keeravani made India proud as he bagged an Oscar in 2023 for 'RRR' song 'Naatu Naatu' featuring Ram Charan and Jr NTR. The music was composed by Keeravani and lyrics were penned by Chandrabose. It is to be noted that 'Naatu Naatu' is the first song from an Indian film to get a nomination and win in the Best Original Song category at the Oscars. The song became viral all over social media with Instagram reels to TikTok videos. 

Guneet Monga Kapoor

Acclaimed Indian film producer, Guneet Monga Kapoor added another feather to her cap as her film 'The Elephant Whisperers' emerged as the winner at the 95th Academy Awards. It won Best Documentary Short Film. Earlier, in 2019, her documentary 'Period. End of Sentence' got the Oscar in the Documentary Short Subject. 'The Elephant Whisperers' garnered critical acclaim and was much loved by the audience and it earned Monga the coveted award. 

Vir Das 

Stand-up comedian and actor Vir Das bagged the International Emmy Award 2023 for Comedy at the award function in New York. He won the award for Best Comedy Series for his Netflix's 'Vir Das: Landing'. This was his second nomination and first win. Vir is known for his wit, humour, and social commentary that resonate with audiences across borders, making him a celebrated figure. 

Ektaa Kapoor

Producer Ektaa Kapoor scripted history as she was honoured with the prestigious International Directorate Award at the 51st International Emmy Awards. It was presented by the renowned author and new-age leader, Deepak Chopra. With this Ektaa became the first Indian to win the International Emmy Directorate Award. 

Ranveer Singh

Actor Ranveer Singh was honoured at the Red Sea International Film Festival by Sharon Stone for his contributions towards cinema. Several celebrities like Johnny Depp and Will Smith among others attended the festival that took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Ranveer also posed with Depp and the pic has gone viral on social media.

Richa Chadha

Actress Richa Chadha got global recognition as she received a prestigious French Honour in 2023.  The 'Fukrey' actress was conferred the Chevalier Des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of the Arts and Letters) by the French government during the latest edition of the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival. She received the honour for her outstanding contribution to the world of cinema and highlighted the increasing collaboration and appreciation for talent beyond national borders.

Angad Bedi

Actor Angad Bedi won the Gold Medal in the 400-metre race at the prestigious Open International Masters 2023 Athletics Championship held in Dubai. He showcased exceptional prowess and determination, completing the race in an impressive 67 seconds. The 'Ghoomer' actor achieved this after a year-long intensive training regimen, balanced alongside his thriving acting career. 

Bhuvan Bam

Content creator Bhuvan Bam bagged the title of Best Content Creator at the prestigious Septemius Awards 2023, in Amsterdam for emerging as the undisputed winner in the Best Content Creator category.
