Tej Pratap Yadav offers Rs 11 lakh to Rajpal Yadav

Former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav announced Rs 11 lakh financial aid for Rajpal Yadav. Tej Pratap Yadav came to know about Rajpal Yadav's financial crunch through a post by his elder brother Inderjit Yadav. "In this extremely difficult time, I and the entire JJD (Jan Shakti Janata Dal) family stand firmly with the bereaved family with our deepest condolences and solidarity," he wrote in a post on X.

The Jan Shakti Janata Dal (JJD) national president added, "With a spirit of human compassion and support, on behalf of the JJD family, I am providing financial assistance of Rs 11,00,000 (Eleven lakh rupees) to the family."

Rajpal Yadav debt case

Rajpal Yadav reportedly took a Rs 5 crore loan in 2010 for his directorial project Ata Pata Laapata. But due to the poor box office performance, he had to incur a loss and failed to repay the debt, followed by legal proceedings. The dues had swelled to nearly Rs 9 crore. Though he deposited Rs 75 lakh through two demand drafts, a bulk amount remained unpaid. On February 5, 2026, his counsel offered a Rs 25 lakh cheque and a new payment schedule, but the judge refused to recall the surrender order. The actor surrendered on the same day to serve his six-month sentence.
