Vijay Links Jana Nayagan Delay, Karur Stampede, Seeks Justice At Rally

Actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay alleged a larger conspiracy linked to the delay of his film Jana Nayagan and the Karur stampede, while addressing supporters after filing his nomination in Trichy. The remarks were made during a public address, where he linked both incidents to the ongoing political climate in Tamil Nadu.

It was claimed by Vijay that multiple forces had come together to oppose him, suggesting that both the film’s delayed release and the tragic stampede may have been influenced by political motivations. It was further stated that justice is being sought in both matters.

Vijay’s remarks at Trichy rally

During his speech, it was said by Vijay that “a conspiracy was being formed” around the Karur incident and the stalled release of his final film. It was suggested that the film could have strengthened his connection with the public and potentially influenced the elections.

It was also expressed by him that he had entered politics to stand with the people, despite having a life of comfort. It was added that “no lies or deception” would be practised, while voters were urged to choose between leadership that “works against people” and one that “works for them”.

The ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government was described by him as an “evil force”, with a call being made to remove it from power in the upcoming assembly elections.

Jana Nayagan delay explained

The delay of Jana Nayagan has been attributed to certification issues with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). It has been reported that the film was initially expected to receive a UA 16+ certificate but was later referred to a revising committee following objections raised by a member of the examining committee.

The producers, KVN Productions, had earlier informed the court that the delay could result in losses exceeding ₹100 crore. The film, directed by H Vinoth, features Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol in key roles.

Political debut and next steps

Vijay is contesting elections for the first time through his party, TVK, and is expected to run from constituencies including Perambur and Trichy East.

While the film’s release remains uncertain, it is now expected to arrive once certification issues are resolved.
