Baahubali The Epic: SS Rajamouli Announces 2-part Combined Film On 10th Anniversary; Here's The Release Date

SS Rajamouli's Baahubali franchise is one of the major achievements of Indian cinema. The epic drama captivated the audiences with its narrative, high-class VFX, cinematography, music, action scenes and performances. The franchise not only received appreciation in India, but also garnered international recognition. On Thursday, Baahubali clocked ten years, and to mark the special occasion, Rajamouli announced a two-part combined film titled, Baahubali: The Epic. It will release in theatres worldwide on October 31, 2025, in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam.

Rajamouli shared the news with a new poster of Prabhas on X, and wrote, "Baahubali… The beginning of many journeys. Countless memories. Endless inspiration. It’s been 10 years. Marking this special milestone with #BaahubaliTheEpic, a two-part combined film. In theatres worldwide on October 31, 2025 (sic)".

Baahubali starred Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, and Nassar, among others in significant roles.

Baahubali: The Beginning was released on July 10, 2015, followed by the second instalment Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which was released on April 28, 2017.

As per a report in Sacnilk, Baahubali earned Rs 650 crore worldwide, while Baahubali 2 raked in Rs 1788.06 crore. The second instalment holds the third position in the highest-grossing Indian films of all time after Aamir Khan's Dangal (2016) and Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024).

Coming back to SS Rajamouli, his last release was 2022 film RRR, starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan. His upcoming film is with superstar Mahesh Babu, tentatively titled SSMB29. The movie is currently in the early production stage and reports state that Rajamouli is considering to release the film on March 25, 2027, which marks the fifth anniversary of RRR.

Apart from Mahesh Babu, the film also stars Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

SSMB29 is reportedly made on a whopping budget of Rs 1000 crore.
