Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is one of the much-awaited movies of 2026. The first glimpse video was unveiled recently, creating a massive buzz about the upcoming epic saga. In the clip, the main cast was officially announced: Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Yash as Ravana, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman.

The latest report claims that Sunny will have limited screen time in Ramayana.

Will Sunny Deol have brief screen time in Ramayana?

As per a report in India Today, Deol will have a brief screen time in Ramayana: Part 1. He will be reportedly seen on screen for around 15 minutes. Sources told the portal that the actor will have a bigger role in the second part of the film. They also revealed that the first part will end with the arrival of Hanuman, who will pledge to help Lord Rama and Lakshman in rescuing Goddess Sita from Ravana.

In Ramayana: Part 2, the Gadar star will have more screen time. He will appear in the battle between Lord Ram and Ravana, which is the central plot of the magnum opus.

Ramayana brings together a dream team to reimagine India's greatest epic for the global audience. Oscar-winner Hans Zimmer is scoring the music with maestro AR Rahman, and stunt director Guy Norris (Mad Max: Fury Road) has taken care of the stunt choreography.

Ramayana release date

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and 8- time winning VFX studio DNEG in association with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations; Ramayana is being filmed for IMAX and will release worldwide. Part 1 is arriving on Diwali 2026, followed by Part 2 on Diwali 2027.

Coming back to Sunny Deol, apart from Ramayana, he will also be seen in Border 2 alongside Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh. The film will release in theatres on January 23, 2026.
