Prabhas Says He’s 'Bored Of VFX Films' At 'Kalki' Launch, Hints At A Possible Collaboration With Ram Charan

Prabhas, Deepika Padukone starrer upcoming film, 'Project K' is now titled 'Kalki 2898 AD'. 

The teaser of the much-awaited sci-fi movie 'Kalki 2898 AD' was unveiled amid a grand show at San Diego Comic-Con.  The film, which stars Prabhas along with Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in key roles, is helmed and written by Nag Ashwin. 

Post the first glimpse, the makers sat down for a panel discussion, and followed it up with a conversation with the fans about the film. 

During the Q&A section at the San Diego Comic-Con,  Prabhas was asked if he had "blue screen fatigue", to which he said that he is bored of doing VFX-heavy films and working in a CGI environment. Hence, he was visibly happy to see the teaser presented on the big screen. He said, "I got bored of it. It's not real stuff, but then it is real."

During the interaction, Rana Daggubatti, who moderated the panel, also praised Prabhas for working and building a number of epic franchises, whether it was sci-fi, mythological, or even love stories. 

For the event, Prabhas was joined by director Nag Ashwin, Kamal Haasan, Swapna Dutt, Priyanka Dutt and Rana Daggubati. Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who is part of the project, joined in via video call.

Further, Prabhas was questioned about his possible collaborations with other actors, including Ram Charan. The actor said, “Yeah, we might sometimes. Ram Charan is my friend, they (all) are my friends, so we are going to work one day for sure."

‘Project K’, the earlier working title of the film, has now been changed to 'Kalki 2898 AD'. The sci-fi film was announced on Vyjayanthi Movies' 50th anniversary, and is produced on a massive budget of Rs 600 crore. Hence, it is the most expensive Indian movie ever. 'Kalki 2898 AD' will be released in theaters on January 12, 2024.
