We have curated a list of new OTT releases arriving this week, on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, JioHotstar, SonyLIV, and other streamers. This week has some binge-worthy movies and web series such as Aap Jaisa Koi, Special Ops Season 2, Narivetta, and Four Years Later, among others. Also, there a few interesting releases in theatres as well. For the superhero fans, there is Superman, and romance and action lovers can enjoy Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan and Maalik. Trainwreck: The Real Project X – July 8 (Netflix)

This docu-series is inspired by Project X (2012). It shows how a sixteen-year-old's Facebook post accidentally becomes viral and creates chaos in a quiet Dutch town.  

Moonwalk – July 8 (JioHotstar)

The Malayalam movie revolves around a group of late-teenage friends in Thiruvananthapuram whose are inspired by Michael Jackson. They learn breakdance and try to recreate the iconic moves of the icon.

Ziam – July 9 (Netflix)

The story revolves around a former professional Muay Thai fighter, who uses his fighting skills to rescue his girlfriend, a doctor, from a zombie outbreak in a hospital. Ziam stars Mark-Prin Suparat and Nychaa-Nuttanicha Dungwattanawanich in lead roles.

The Gringo Hunters – July 9 (Netflix)

The crime thriller series, inspired by an elite Mexican police unit, is about a group of Mexican police officers, who is on a mission to take down U.S. fugitives feeling across the border.

Aap Jaisa Koi – July 11 (Netflix)

Starring R Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaikh, Aap Jaisa Koi is a romantic drama, which revolves around the story of Shrirenu Tripathi, a middle-aged Sanskrit professor in Jamshedpur, and Madhu Bose, a French teacher, who are about to get married, but the societal expectations and patriarchy come their way, causing chaos and heartbreaks.

Special Ops Season 2 – July 11 (JioHotstar)

Kay Kay Menon is back with his role as Himmat Singh in the second season. Himmat and his undercover agents, face a new threat targeting India's digital economy. The gripping espionage thriller also marks the return of Karan Tacker, Vinay Pathak, Muzammil Ibrahim, Saiyami Kher, and Meher Vij. Tahir Raj Bhasin and Prakash Raj are the fresh additions.

Narivetta – July 11 (SonyLIV)

Starring Tovino Thomas in the lead role, this Malayalam movie is inspired by the 2003 Muthanga tribal protest. The film shows the complexities of the land rights and what role the authority has in all these. Directed by Anuraj Manohar, the film also features Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Cheran.

Four Years Later – July 11 (Lionsgate Play)

Starring Shahana Goswami and Akshay Ajit Singh, the romantic drama series is about a couple who has an arranged marriage. Just days after their wedding, Yash (Singh) has to leave India for a medical traineeship in Australia, and both are now in a four-year long-distance marriage. While Yash is busy with his hospital shifts, Sridevi (Goswami) stays back in Jaipur, where she faces domestic pressures. Though they reunite after four years, their reunion is not as expected.

Theatrical releases this week

Superman – July 11

Directed by James Gunn, Superman stars David Corenswet, who plays Clark Kent, aka Superman. He is the representative for the United States, who is responsible for stopping a war. Nicholas Hoult plays the antagonist, Lex Luthor.

Maalik – July 11

The action thriller, directed by Pulkit, stars Rajkummar Rao, who plays a gangster. It shows his rise to power in the underworld. Raj is seen in a never-seen-before avatar in Maalik.

Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan - July 11

Vikrant Massey plays a blind musician, while Shanaya Kapoor plays an theatre artiste, in the romantic drama.

The film marks Shanaya's Bollywood debut. The story is said to be loosely inspired by Ruskin Bond’s acclaimed short story The Eyes Have It.
