Nora Fatehi On Playing Helen In Her Biopic: I Would Die, But Of Course It Would Be An Honour

Nora Fatehi’s non-stop 10-minute-long performance at IIFA has got everyone talking about how she embodies legendary actress and dancer Helen’s persona. She opens up about whether she would love to play Helen if a biopic were to be made on her life.

Nora Fatehi’s ecstatic performance at IIFA 2023 has been the talk of the town. She put up a non-stop 10-minute enchanting performance that took the whole arena back to legendary performer Helen’s era, leaving the audiences spellbound in the process. Everything from her costume to visuals to her movements in the performance was entrancing, to say the least.

Songs like ‘Piya Tu’ and ‘Aaj Ki Raat’ that was massive hit back then, revived the audience this time, with Nora Fatehi’s magic. If there is anyone that can so accurately pull off the responsibility of channelling Helen’s aura, it is none other than Nora Fatehi herself.

Nora Fatehi has also often idolised the legendary actress and dancer Helen in many of her interviews. In 2017, she even got to meet the star who later blessed her.

At a recent interview at IIFA, when asked on how she managed to pull this off with such ease, she mentioned, “I really studied all her videos properly, even the breathing spaces, the shoulder movements, the hands and just the aura. I had to be feminine, I had to be poised, I had to be very flirty and I had to own it.”

On being probed if she would play Helen in her biopic, if it were ever to be made, to which she says, “Of course that would be an honour. I mean if the filmmakers ever think of me, because I feel like we have so many similarities. She came from a different country, I did, it was tough for both of us, we were introduced to the world through dance and that too in a different genre of dance. We changed what dance meant in cinema. If anyone would need to embody that and really show what that emotion is, I think I would really be able to connect with that. But of course, it would be an honour.”

She continues to say, “I would die! That for me would be like pack up, I’m done! I did what I came to do.”

Glimpses of the award show have been circulating the internet but to watch the whole performance, fans will have to wait just a bit more.
