The Assassin, a six-part action thriller series starring Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore, is all set to release on BBC Player India this August. It has been written and created by Williams brothers: Harry & Jack Williams. The show will be available to stream from August 1, 2025, on BBC Player India, available on Tata Play Binge and Prime Video in India.

The Assassin is a six-part action thriller series starring Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore
The Assassin is about a retired assassin Julie (Hawes) and her estranged son Edward (Highmore), who is looking for answers about his father. In a turn of events, they are forced to flee an idyllic Greek island when Julie’s dangerous past follows her. As past and present collide, both fight for survival in this high-stake drama.
The mother-son duo unravels a dark conspiracy which they believe to be their only threat, but they have to face a greater threat that could totally destroy their relationship.
The series promises to be an intense thriller with power-packed performances and high-octane action sequences.
Apart from Hawes and Highmore, who also serve as executive producers, The Assassin also stars Gina Gershon (Riverdale, New Amsterdam), Shalom Brune-Franklin (The Tourist, Baby Reindeer), Jack Davenport (The Morning Show, Pirates of the Caribbean), Alan Dale (Dynasty, Lost), Gerald Kyd (The Swarm, The Split), Devon Terrell (Totally Completely Fine, Cursed), Richard Dormer (Blue Lights, Game of Thrones) and David Dencik (The Ipcress File, No Time To Die).
The gripping thriller series is presented by All3Media, and is produced by award-winning production company Two Brothers Pictures in association with ZDF, All3Media International, and Stan.
The Assassin will premiere in the U.K. on Amazon's Prime Video on July 25, 2025.
