Actor-producer John Abraham is all set to reunite with director Abhishek Sharma after their 2018 film, Parmanu. This time, they are collaborating for a big-budget superhero film titled Munkeeman. As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, the upcoming film is a "high octane, super-hero, genre-bending film." The movie is said to be backed by Mahaveer Jain.

John Abraham is reportedly reuniting with Parmanu director Abhishek Sharma for a big-budget superhero film titled Munkeeman.
The portal quoted a source saying, "John and all the stakeholders of this project are extremely excited for it as nothing of this sort has been seen in Indian cinema before. It is mounted as an ambitious big budget film meant for a grand theatrical experience, backed by producer Mahaveer Jain."
The source further said that the film is currently under the wraps and will go on the floors in early 2026.
About John Abraham's Munkeeman
The film is reportedly based on the book of the same name and interestingly, it is written by none other than Abhishek Sharma along with Anant Singh. It was launched in 2012, and is inspired by the Monkey Man incident that occurred in Delhi in the same year.
The synopsis of the book reads: "In the summer of 2001 a strange creature created panic and chaos in the city of Delhi. No one had an explanation or clue about his true identity. Then suddenly one day he vanished, never to return until today Munkeeman is back. And he wants you to know that he is not a monster, but India’s own authentic superhero."
On the work front, John Abraham was last seen in The Diplomat. He is currently shooting for Rohit Shetty’s much-anticipated upcoming biopic on former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria.
Abhishek Sharma, who has helmed films like Tere Bin Laden, The Zoya Factor, Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, and Ram Setu, among others is reportedly working on the sequel to Akshay Kumar and John Abraham's Garam Masala.
