The first season of the series was based on the horrifying Nirbhaya rape case which took place in Delhi in 2012 while the second season was about the criminal group Chaddi Baniyan. Shefali’s performance as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vartika Chaturvedi got applauded and appreciated by both critics and fans. Vulnerable and powerful in equal measure, Vartika’s teary eyes, silent storm brewing in her head, her commanding walk, devotion towards her work as well as her family, they all told a story about the strength of her character in the series.

‘Monica O My Darling’

A crime comedy thriller that also doubles up as a murder mystery. The story is an adaptation of the Japanese novel ‘Burutasu No Shinzou’ and has all the ingredients of a perfect suspense thriller and a family entertainer. Huma Qureshi’s role as Monica Machado, the company’s secretary, a femme fatale who employs her guiles to hold her ground on a slippery slope. Her character is unapologetic, vulnerable and morally flexible, which made the film even more delightful to watch on screen.
