Running for one minute and 25 seconds, the trailer revisits Shivam's story while introducing a fresh conflict driven by vengeance. Emraan Hashmi returns in an intense avatar, determined to settle old scores regardless of the consequences.
The sequel also showcases Disha Patani in a striking new action role, with the actor seen wielding firearms and performing high-energy stunt sequences. Shabana Azmi makes a brief yet impactful appearance, hinting at a formidable antagonist who stands in Shivam's path.
Awarapan returns before the sequel
During a recent Instagram Live session, Emraan Hashmi confirmed that the original Awarapan would return to cinemas before the sequel. It was said by the actor that longtime fans would revisit Shivam's journey with fresh memories after watching the second film, while younger audiences unfamiliar with the 2007 original would have an opportunity to experience the character's complete story.
Presented by Mukesh Bhatt and Vishesh Films, Awarapan 2 is produced by Vishesh Bhatt, directed by Nitin Kakkar and written by Bilal Siddiqi. Earlier reports suggesting that the film had been delayed were dismissed by both the makers and Hashmi.
Awarapan 2 is scheduled to release in theatres on August 14, while the original Awarapan, first released on June 29, 2007, will return to cinemas as a prequel.
