Awarapan 2 Box Office Day 9: Emraan Hashmi Film Jumps 43.5%, Nears ₹200 Crore

The Awarapan 2 box office run has picked up fresh momentum in its second week, with the Emraan Hashmi starrer recording a strong jump on Day 9. The sequel earned ₹8.25 crore nett in India, bringing its domestic total to ₹127.50 crore as its worldwide gross moves closer to the ₹200 crore mark.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Awarapan 2 registered a 43.5% increase in its India nett collection on Day 9 compared with the previous day. The film collected ₹8.25 crore from 10,008 shows, taking its India gross to ₹152.11 crore.

The sequel has maintained a healthy run despite a gradual dip through the middle of its second week. Its Day 9 performance was notably stronger than Day 8, when it earned ₹5.75 crore nett.

The film’s India nett collections now stand at ₹127.50 crore. Day 1 opened with ₹22 crore, followed by ₹33.75 crore on Day 2 and ₹26 crore on Day 3.

Awarapan 2 Nears ₹200 Crore Worldwide

The Emraan Hashmi film has also continued to perform in overseas markets. It added ₹1.50 crore in overseas gross on Day 9, taking its international total to ₹28.80 crore.

With an India gross of ₹152.11 crore and overseas gross of ₹28.80 crore, Awarapan 2 has reached ₹180.91 crore worldwide. At its current pace, the film is within striking distance of the ₹200 crore milestone.

The sequel has emerged as the stronger performer compared with Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947, which released alongside it. Much of Awarapan 2’s appeal has come from nostalgia surrounding the 2007 original and its popular soundtrack.

The first Awarapan was released on June 29, 2007 and initially had a modest theatrical run before developing a loyal following over the years.
