Aamir Khan has put the speculations to rest surrounding his wedding to girlfriend Gauri Spratt. The superstar has confirmed his wedding is on July 5. Aamir and Gauri are set to enter a phase of their lives after being together for more than two years. Confirming his wedding, Aamir told Variety India, “The news about the marriage is true. It’s on July 5.”

Aamir, who is currently travelling in the US, is getting married for the third time. Reports in several outlets claim that Aamir and Gauri have opted for a private and simple ceremony over a grand celebration. Only their family and close ones will be present. They will reportedly formalise their relationship through a registered marriage at home.

Aamir and Gauri met nearly 25 years ago but lost touch. But destiny played its role by bringing them together after so many years.

Aamir introduced Gauri to the media during his 60th birthday celebrations last year. The couple is often spotted together at public events.

Earlier, when the question of marriage was raised, Aamir had said they were not concerned about marriage as they were happy living together in a new residence.

Now, he has told Variety India that both feel they are “ready to take our relationship to the next level.” Aamir also said he is in a happy phase in his life. “I am at peace,” he shared, adding that both are serious about each other and in a very committed space.

“We are partners, we are together. In my heart, I’m already married to her. So, to formalize our togetherness just seems like a natural progression of our partnership,” said the 61-year-old star.
