Nimrod Antal’s action film ‘Retribution’ has been released on Lionsgate Play. The Lian Neeson starrer is garnering a great buzz all over. Here’s what the direction has to say about the film and the exhilarating action sequences.
The countdown to your life has already begun. As ‘Retribution’ premiered on Lionsgate Play recently, we go through the action-filled twists and turns that take place in Matt Turner’s (Liam Neeson) life. This Nimrod Antal film, starring Matthew Modine, Jack Champion, and Embeth Davidtz alongside Neeson, takes you through Matt Turner’s life, as a regular businessman, until one day his life is turned upside down and the lives of his family and himself are left in the hands of a mysterious caller.
The film’s story and action sequence are a Nimrod Antal special, with the Hungarian-American director providing his unique twist to every story.
Talking about the script of the film, director Nimrod Antal said, “From the onset, we realize there is turbulence within Matt’s family dynamic. That morning, Matt doesn’t want to take his children to school because he is so busy, as he always is. But we also get the sense there are problems between him and his wife. And that’s what’s so great about this script. We understand that this is a regular guy who has got his priorities wrong. He is totally unprepared to find himself in either of the two situations he faces, whether that’s a bad guy telling him he’s going to blow him up, or slowly realizing that he doesn’t know how to communicate with his family anymore.”
