Ananya Panday revealed how she bagged the role in the film while shooting for ‘Gehraiyaan’.

Ananya Panday’s recent release ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’ has got her love from all corners. The film, which also featured Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav, has been getting decent reviews and Ananya’s performance has been praised by critics and audiences alike.

Now in a recent interview, Ananya Panday revealed that her female contemporaries, including Alia Bhatt, Mrunal Thakur, and Kriti Sanon, wished and congratulated her for her role in the film. The actor further revealed that she got the role in ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’ while shooting for ‘Gehraiyaan’.

Sharing her positive experiences working with fellow female stars, Ananya called herself the “flag bearer of women being friends with each other.” She told News18, “After watching this film, Alia (Bhatt) and Mrunal (Thakur) called and Kriti (Sanon) messaged me. I think it’s just an outside perception that women don’t support each other. But I’ve only encountered supportive female friends. I’ve done many two-girl films. I’ve worked with Tara (Sutaria), Bhumi (Pednekar) and Deepika (Padukone), and I’ve only had wonderful experiences with them.”

Recalling her audition for the role of Ahana in the film, Ananya mentioned how she was determined to impress director Arjun Varain Singh. She said, “I had heard that the film was getting made when I was shooting with Sid in Goa. I was like, ‘Shit, I really want to be a part of the film.” Arjun was on the sets of ‘Gehraiyaan’ to narrate the script to Siddhant Chaturvedi.

She further remembered how she found the project exciting and wanted to be part of it ever since she got to know that Arjun was coming on the sets.

Ananya said, “I dressed up as a tomboy. I wore basketball shots and ganji and told everyone, ‘Come on guys, let’s play football.’ I became like one of the bros and Arjun just went, ‘Wow, she’s exactly like Ahana. Let’s audition her.’ Then I auditioned for it and luckily got the part (laughs).”
