‘Gadar 2’ Actor Rohit Choudhary: In The Entertainment Industry Much Is Dependent On Luck As Well As Timing

Rohit Choudhary, who was seen recently in ‘Gadar 2’, opens up about how important it is to be at the right time at the right place as a lot depends on luck as well in the film industry. He also lays emphasis on having a secondary source of income to keep one’s sanity intact.

Actor Rohit Choudhary who was part of ‘Gadar 2’ is playing an important role in director Anil Sharma’s film ‘Journey’. The film stars veteran actor Nana Patekar and Anil Sharma’s son Utkarsh Sharma. The actor says that the entertainment industry thrives on meeting the right people at the right time. Networking and luck are two important factors of surviving here, he says.

“The entertainment industry is my passion, it has been a decade since I have been part of this. Highs and lows are part and parcel of any field. But in the entertainment industry much is dependent on luck as well as timing. For many, it also has limitations of age. Like in sports. But those who are ready to take on different characters have longevity,” he says.

Therefore, he says, having an alternative source of income is a good idea. “Keeping a separate line of work is always advisable. For example, many stars are hoteliers and are engaged in something else simultaneously,” he says.

It’s true. Even the biggest of stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and others have invested in numerous businesses and these businesses are the ones that help them sustain during a lull period in their career. Their minds are at a good space when they know that the daily breads for their families are taken care of, and now they can go ahead and experiment with different kinds of stories and films. Having a different income by the side is always helpful to keep one’s sanity in place.

People are mainly attracted to the entertainment industry because of name and fame and money, he says, adding, “Success does not come easy. With success comes an immense amount of stress. If you can handle that then you are good to go. Discipline and not giving in to temptations that make you deviate from the goals should be taken care of, having a balance with family and bonding with loved ones keeps your life emotionally balanced and head on the ground.”
