The complete turnaround in the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh is a testimony to the extent of the transformation of the state. Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state’s conventional policing methods have now given way to a more connected, technology-driven, and citizen-focused system. Smarter Policing and Stronger Safety Ecosystems

Radical restructuring of the state's policing ecosystem has been done through a zero-tolerance policy toward crime and advanced technological integration. Police commissioners have been successfully established across seven major cities of Uttar Pradesh to tighten crime control and streamline public grievance redressal.

Women's safety remains at the absolute forefront of this administrative evolution:

• Mission Shakti Centres: Operationalised in every single police station, for increased safety, these specialised hubs are backed by targeted training for more than 80,000 police personnel.

• Advanced Tracking Systems: The ITSSO portal enables meticulous monitoring of sexual-offence investigations, complemented by dedicated initiatives like Mission Shakti 5.0, Operation Garud, Operation Shield, Operation Bachpan, and Operation Raksha.

• Rapid Emergency Response: The UP-112 emergency service has transformed crisis management, handling over seven crore emergency events since 2017. It has slashed average response times from an hour and five minutes down to just 5 minutes and 8 seconds.

• Safe City Projects: To provide heightened security for women, children, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities, enhanced protection measures have been deployed via the UP Special Security Force and Safe City projects.

Expanding the concept of secure mobility, the proposed Sarathi Didi service merges safe public travel with women's livelihoods. It does so by employing women drivers, incorporating live tracking, and utilising SOS assistance. As Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasises, safety is the vital launchpad from which opportunity begins: "When a woman becomes self-reliant, the entire family becomes self-reliant. When a family is self-reliant, it strengthens a vital link in society."

Dignity and Social Security at Every Turn

True empowerment of women requires protecting them through difficult life circumstances and safeguarding their choices. Uttar Pradesh’s social protection framework is designed to preserve human dignity rather than merely help vulnerable citizens survive.

• The Destitute Women Pension Scheme provides a regular monthly pension of Rs 1,000 to 41.42 lakh to destitute women.

• It operates specialised protection homes, women's shelters, and care centres for women with intellectual disabilities and those facing severe hardships.

• Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana is helping 5.55 lakh daughters embark on a dignified new chapter of life. It offers Rs 1 lakh per eligible couple to ease the financial burdens of marriage.

• Constructing pink toilets and community facilities across 189 urban bodies under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) to guarantee public hygiene, privacy, and safety.

The Uttar Pradesh government has woven robust law enforcement, rapid emergency response, and comprehensive social security together, which is helping in building an environment where fear ends and true freedom begins.
