Andhra Pradesh Travel Mart 2026 Begins On A Strong Note

Andhra Pradesh Travel Mart 2026 began in Visakhapatnam with 500+ stakeholders. The event features B2B meetings, policy talks and launches, promoting investment, tourism growth and partnerships.

The Andhra Pradesh Travel Mart (APTM) 2026, jointly organised by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority (APTA) and the Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI), commenced successfully in Visakhapatnam with participation from over 500 tourism stakeholders, including tour operators, hospitality partners and government representatives from across the country.

Spread over two days, the mart features B2B meetings, policy discussions, cultural showcases and strategic tourism dialogues aimed at strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s position as a leading tourism destination. The event began with registrations and buyer–seller meetings, followed by an audio-visual presentation showcasing the state’s attractions and major investments. The inaugural ceremony was marked by the lighting of the lamp by Hon’ble Minister for Tourism Shri Kandula Durgesh along with other dignitaries.

The dignitaries present on the dais included Dr. Nukasani Balaji, Chairman APTDC; Shri Nilu Sharma, Chairman Chhattisgarh Tourism Board; Shri Ajay Jain, IAS, Special Chief Secretary Tourism, AP; Smt. Amrapali Kata, IAS, CEO & MD APTA; Shri Vivek Acharya, MD Chhattisgarh Tourism; Shri K. Vijay Mohan, Chairman APTM 2026; and Shri Ved Khanna, President ADTOI.

In his address, Hon’ble Minister Shri Kandula Durgesh described tour operators as the true pillars of tourism and appreciated the strong participation. He stated that tourism has been accorded industry status and investor-friendly policies have attracted nearly ₹20,000 crore investments in hotels and thematic parks within 17–18 months. He added that single-window clearances, homestay and caravan policies, improved connectivity, eco-tourism, cruise tourism and major events will position Andhra Pradesh as a leading national and international tourism hub.

The Hon’ble Minister further stated that Andhra Pradesh is moving ahead with a clear vision under the Swarna Andhra Tourism Vision 2047, focusing on thematic circuits, cruise tourism, eco-retreats and experiential travel. He emphasized that the government builds infrastructure and policies, but tour operators transform destinations into real experiences, making partnership essential for tourism growth.

Dr. Nukasani Balaji outlined APTDC’s role as a facilitator and single-window partner, noting expansion of homestays, water sports, caravan tourism and upgraded Haritha hotels. He emphasized investor-friendly land allotment policies, PPP participation and sustainable development aimed at transforming Andhra Pradesh into a global tourism hub. He also noted that tourism cannot grow in silos and that close synergy between APTDC and tour operators is essential to package and promote Andhra Pradesh as an experience-rich destination.

This was followed by addresses from other dignitaries highlighting the tourism offerings of Andhra Pradesh and opportunities for collaboration between Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

During the event, the Andhra Pradesh Travel Partners Portal and the Buddhist Circuit were launched by the Hon’ble Tourism Minister.

A panel discussion titled “Rediscovering Andhra’s Hidden Gems” was also conducted, where industry experts shared insights, suggestions and experiences on promoting lesser-known destinations.

The first day concluded with optimism and strong industry engagement, setting the tone for continued discussions and partnerships during the remainder of the mart. More panel discussions are scheduled for the second day, followed by familiarization trips for participants to experience tourism offerings in the Visakhapatnam and Araku region.
