In accordance with the directions of the Election Commission of India, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Maharashtra is committed to ensuring that the name of every eligible voter is included in the Electoral Roll and that no ineligible person’s name remains on the Roll.
To achieve this objective, the following measures are being undertaken by all the Voter Registration Officers.
Special Voter Registration Camps in Colleges/Universities: To facilitate large-scale registration of young voters, special voter registration camps are being organized in all colleges and universities across Maharashtra from 5th October to 9th October 2026. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are present at these camps to assist students in filling applications and to clarify their queries regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
House-to-house verification and registration of voters not included in the Draft Roll: A special campaign is being conducted to register all eligible voters whose names are not included in the Draft Electoral Roll. BLOs are visiting households to identify such voters and, upon verification of eligibility, are collecting Form 6 from them. For citizens who are not at home during these visits, special voter registration camps will be organized at all polling stations on 10th and 11th October 2026.
Voters listed as absent from their residence or who have moved : Voters who have changed their usual place of residence and whose names have been included in the list of absent or migrated persons during BLO home visits can also apply for registration. The list of such voters is available on the official website of the Chief Electoral Officer, Maharashtra at https://ceoelection.maharashtra.gov.in/ceo/.
All eligible citizens are urged to come forward and actively participate in this campaign to ensure that their names are correctly registered in the Electoral Roll of Maharashtra.
