Security has been ramped up at the Delhi Airport and Metro stations after intelligence agencies said that seven terrorists have managed to get their hands on Indian army uniforms.

According to a report in The Hindustan Times, the terrorists have managed to get uniforms of ‘Captain’ and ‘Subedar’ ranks and that the intelligence bureau report came from Amritsar.

The report adds that aside from the metros and airport in Delhi, personnel stationed in Punjab during the assembly polls have been alerted as well.

The report quotes the IB report saying that “Seven terrorists have been seen outside Chakri and Gurdaspur border posts. The group has acquired combat ranks of captain and subedar of Indian Army, which are likely to be worn after infiltration.”

Increased security has also inconvenienced people due to the double-frisking says the report.

It also quotes a personnel from the CISF saying that while the force is maintaining a high-level of security, two additional rounds of frisking has been added at the airport while an extra round has been added at metro stations.

The Intelligence report comes as a bit of a scare as the scenario is reminiscent of the Pathankot Attack in the early hours of 1st January 2016 when six heavily armed men in army uniforms got into the airbase in Pathankot. The incident had led to a breakdown  in Indo-Pak relations.
